03/11/26 (Wed4) – Still Waiting for Morning – John 2 [13-22]
March 11, 2026
As We Gather
Tonight’s message continues our Lenten journey through the night. Psalm 130 gives voice to faith that waits—honestly, patiently, and trustingly—when relief does not come quickly. As we listen, we are reminded that Christ Himself entered the deepest night for us, securing forgiveness and hope even before the morning arrives.
Prayer Before Service
Grant, Lord, that we may know You and love You, that we may rejoice in You. And if we cannot do these things fully in this life, let us at least go forward day by day until we come to the fullness of light. Amen.
Historical Note:
This prayer reflects Augustine’s lifelong emphasis on faith seeking understanding and patient movement toward God’s light. Its restrained longing makes it especially fitting for a Lenten service focused on waiting.
