Beside Still Waters
There are times in life when everything feels loud and restless. Our minds race, our hearts worry, and our days feel like a storm that never quite settles. We try to fix things, control things, and calm ourselves, but the more we try, the more tired we become. We know we should trust God, but sometimes our faith feels too small and our fears too big. The truth we must admit: we are not as strong as we pretend to be. We get anxious. We get overwhelmed. Like sheep, we wander.
Our hope is not in how strong our faith is. Our hope is in our Shepherd. Jesus is the One who leads us. He doesn’t drive us in anger or leave us to find our own way. He walks ahead of us. He leads us beside still waters. He restores our souls. That is Gospel comfort. Jesus didn’t only come to guide us, He came to save us. He went to the cross for our sins, for our fears, for all the times we have failed to trust Him. It is because He is risen, we know this Good Shepherd still leads us today. Even when life is loud, He is leading us to quiet waters. Even when our hearts are troubled, He is restoring our souls.
So today we remember: we are not alone in the storm. Our Shepherd is with us, and He is leading us to still waters.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, lead us when we are anxious and restore our souls when we are weary. Help us to trust Your voice and rest in Your care. Amen.
Thought for the Day:
The Shepherd is closer than we think, and He is always leading us toward peace.
