03/18/26 (Wed5) – The Song of Restoration – Ezekiel 37 [1-14]
March 18, 2026
As We Gather
Tonight’s reading from Ezekiel brings us into a valley where hope appears spent and life absent. The Song of Restoration speaks to weariness that lasts too long and faith that feels thin. God does not ask His people to revive themselves. He speaks, He breathes, and He raises the dead. In this service, we listen again for the Word that restores and the Spirit who gives life in the night.
Prayer Before Service
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I may love what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, that I may defend what is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. Amen.
Historical Note:
This prayer is attributed to St. Augustine of Hippo (354–430), one of the most influential teachers of the Western Church. Its emphasis on God’s Spirit acting first aligns closely with Ezekiel 37 and avoids moralism by confessing dependence on God’s work rather than human resolve.
