03/15/26 (Sun4) – Seeing in the Trial – John 9:1-41
March 15, 2026
As We Gather
Today’s message, Seeing in the Trial, centers on Jesus’ healing of the man born blind in John 9. This Gospel account reveals how Christ’s light restores sight while exposing fear, pride, and resistance. Joined with the prophet Habakkuk’s watchful trust, the message invites us to stand with Christ when faith becomes visible and costly, confident that He seeks and strengthens those the world pushes aside.
Prayer Before Service
O Lord, let me know myself; let me know You. Drive away from me all darkness of heart. Enlighten my mind; kindle my love; strengthen my faith. Amen.
Historical Note:
This prayer reflects Augustine’s deep concern with illumination, truth, and the transformation of the heart by God’s grace. Rooted in the early Church’s struggle against both moral and spiritual blindness, it fits naturally with Lent 4’s focus on sight, light, and faith.
